Amanda Cartwright, LCSW
Neuro-Affirming Therapy Rooted In Wellness
Hi, I’m Amanda!
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist in Connecticut. I founded Rooted NeuroWellness after years of experiencing firsthand the challenges, frustrations, and emotional rollercoaster that can come with navigating ADHD, Autism, and PDA. Combining my personal experience with professional training has allowed me to pass on the skills I’ve learned throughout my journey while still providing evidence-based support.
Parenting is tough. Parenting neurodiverse children when you have ADHD yourself is really tough! I’ve learned that perfection does not exist but resilience does. There is hope to reducing anxiety, preventing burnout, and regaining control over your life. I’d love an opportunity to partner with you on a path rooted in wellness!
The phone calls from school.
The looks from other parents.
Being told harsher discipline would fix everything.
I have experienced how often ADHD, Autistic, and PDA individuals are misunderstood, pressured to mask their true selves, or expected to fit into systems that were not designed with them in mind. Too often, we receive messages that something is "wrong" with us when, in reality, we simply need support that recognizes and respects how our brains work.
I Take This Personal…
You’re frustrated because you feel like it should be easy but you’re stuck.
You feel like you’ve run a marathon but never left your seat.
You have so many big ideas but nothing gets started.
Maybe you’re an adult who’s already been diagnosed, or you’re wondering if you may have ADHD or Autism. Maybe you’re a parent of a child with ADHD or Autism and you’re noticing some of your child’s symptoms in yourself. You know what needs to get done, but getting started, staying focused, and following through can feel far harder than it looks from the outside. You're exhausted from constantly trying to keep up, masking your struggles, and wondering why things that seem easy for others feel so overwhelming. As a therapist and parent with ADHD, I’m always working on strategies to stay organized, reduce mental clutter, and prevent burnout.
